December is the most wonderful time of the year and most of us celebrate with friends and family. Many Hungarians spend the festive season in luxury and with exceptional, traditional hungarian dishes on the table such as the world famous goulash soup, hand selected fish, beef, chicken, duck and of course we haven’t forgotten about the vegetarians too. To sweeten your evening up we have delicious desserts and we surprise our dear guests with the famous Hungarian marzipan – Szamos Marcipan. If you have any diatery requirements please get in touch with us in advance.
Quality drinks are just as important as the exceptional food, we offer some of Hungary’s best wines from the world famous Tokaj Region, also from Balaton and Noszvaly. We of course also have champagne, beer and soft drinks for our dear guests who perefer those beverages. Coffee, Tea are also served if you wish to.
Our tables are lit up by a candle, and if you prefer the private seating, we have discreet, private tables available.
Why to choose Budapest as your festive destination?
In our opinion, Budapest is showing its’ most beautiful face around December time. Many local food and handcraft producers bring their proudly made “ware” to Christmas Markets and Fairs, which you can find in many locations around Budapest such as the most famous one at Vörösmarty Square. The whole city is lit up and you can really feel the festive mood wandering around the streets of our capital. You should be sipping on a freshly prepared Mulled Wine with whilst you crunching on a baking hot cinnamon Chimney Cake. If you are looking for the perfect Christmas present, there is no way you will not find something for your loved ones on these beautiful markets.
Christmas fairs are very popular around the world and it’s no different in Budapest. It’s wonderful, heart warming and you feel like you are in a fairy tale. Make sure you dress up warm, because the Hungarian winter can be really cold, however do not worry if you prefer to warm yourself up with a delicious hot chocolate or a mulled wine as you will find these items in almost every corner.
You can also find many activities around the city, there is Ice Skating in the City Park (Varosliget), or if you prefer the less tiring activities, Budapest is world famous for its’ thermal baths. We recommend the smaller ones as the bigger ones get really crowded, especially around the festive season.
Make sure to check out our other cruises such as the New Year’s Eve River Cruise.
If you are not in Budapest during Christmas, we run cruises all year round and can accommodate all kind of events. We have dinner cruises, sightseeing cruises, booze cruises and the list goes on, we can really make your wish come true.
